Corporate Profile

Founded in 1980 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and now headquartered in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, the family owned and operated Skin Care Chvasta Intl., USA., Inc. (SCCI) is a leader in the field of esthetics. Its mission is to educate professionals and consumers alike in the art and science of personal full body care and beauty.

Rose M. van Hemert Chvasta
Rose M. van Hemert Chvasta is president and CEO of SCCI, overseeing all aspects of a full service salon cosmetic distributor. An aesthetician with more than 25 years experience, Rose was born in the United States and raised in the Netherlands. She trained in Europe as a licensed aesthetician, massage therapist, electrologist, and chiropodist, as well as certified makeup artist and nail technician. In addition, Rose is an internationally recognized expert in the complete field of beauty and esthetics, including techniques, treatments, and product and equipment knowledge. She has been regularly conducting educational seminars and tradeshows for other beauty professionals in the United States and Europe since 1990.
In 1980, Rose opened her first skin care studio in her home in Rotterdam, allowing her to work while raising two young daughters. After the van Hemert Chvasta family moved to the United States in 1986, SCCI Leetsdale, Pennsylvania opened in 1987 as a skin and nail care salon. The company grew to become an international distributor of HyluniA skin care products in 1990.

In 1999, Rose was inducted into the National Cosmetology Association (NCA) Esthetics Americas and received the Esthetics Emeritus distinction, which is the highest degree granted in the United States in the field of esthetics. That year,  she also earned the honor of CIDESCO Diplomate. In 2000, SCCI became accredited as an International Beauty Center by CIDESCO. SCCI is among only 10 salons in the United States to hold this distinction. In 2001, SCCI opened an expanded skin care salon, parfumerie, and training center for professionals in Moon Township.

Willem van Hemert IV

Rose's husband Willem van Hemert IV has served as Vice President and CFO of SCCI since 1994 and acts as director of operations. In addition, he oversees the sales and marketing departments. He also possesses a specialized background in microdermabrasion equipment repair.

Joyce
Their daughter Joyce received her skin care license from The Pittsburgh Beauty Academy in 1994 and immediately trained with Rose in the European style of skin care treatment and technique. In 1997, Joyce became a full time aesthetician at SCCI after graduating from Penn State University (University Park, PA) with a Bachelors degree in Communication Disorders. She is a 1993 graduate of Quaker Valley High School (Sewickley, PA) and served in the United States Army reserves as a combat medic from 1992 - 2000. In 2003, she received a Masters in Business Administration degree from Robert Morris University (Moon Township, PA).

Joyce is an educator in the speciality of Microdermabrasion, lecturing and demonstrating at seminars and tradeshows nationwide. Through her extensive experience in performing Microdermabrasions, she developed expert techniques that help to maximize the treatment benefits while preventing skin problems and sensitivity.

Wendy
Wendy, Rose and Will's younger daughter, graduated from Beaver Falls Beauty Academy (Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania), in 1996 and has since worked at SCCI as a licensed manicurist and pedicurist as well as receptionist. She is a 1998 graduate of Quaker Valley High School and in 2002 graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelors degree in Administration of Justice and a minor in Sociology. In addition to esthetics duties, Wendy takes an active role in marketing of the cosmetic product lines sold by SCCI, assuming the role of product knowledge expert.

SCCI employs four part time individuals who perform reception duties and assist with product sales.

Following the legacy established by Rose, the staff at SCCI is trained according to CIDESCO standards, continuing a life-long committment to education and expertise in the fields of total wellness, skin care, and beauty.
